...Literally! It's been over 100 degrees all day and all night now for almost 2 months. No rain. We're in a drought and the valley we're in traps the pollution from fires around us. Everyday I feel like I'm draining like a battery and can't seem to cool down.
My heart goes out to the people who don't have fans, air conditioning or water coolers. My electric bill is high, but I am thankful for my ac. Some people I know are struggling to endure the heat without the means to buy a water cooler to cooleven their small homes. The heat is so bad that people are loosing sleep and unable to function well during the day. El Nino is to blame. This season has been the hottest on record in 65 years. I've come to the point where I'm just irritable and want to leave. Soon enough! This week is my last week here until the end of July. School ended. I'm going to miss my sweet kids, but I'm looking forward to a teaching break before I return to teach pre-teens. I'm in the midst of a packing frenzy...not just my house and moving this week, but also packing my entire classroom to prepare to move to the bilingual school we will share space with while we fundraise and begin to build our new school campus. To say I'm moving forward is an understatement...it feels more like sprinting and I already crossed the finish line.. This isn't over yet. Well, I'm going to end this update and go pack some boxes. Prayers would be appreciated!
